obviously not a fault of the book itself but it does lag a bit in terms of its age (i bought in a charity shop near campus!) though i have a feeling it's all still equally relevant. i think the bouncing between american and british healthcare systems bounces between adding important context and confusing the reader a little BUT this is still a very good and VERY accessible takedown of how truly fucked medicine is.

[read june 2025] unsurprisingly good. really appreciated the approach of not fussing about what gender 'is', instead just showing how it is *used* by fascists & their ilk to further their cause. the chapter on terfs is especially good, coming from someone who has firsthand watched the rise of terfs online

Capitalist Realism: Is There No Alternative?by Mark Fisher(4.5 ⭐)

[re-read june 2025] i think the last chapter wanes a fair bit but that doesn't hurt it too much overall. one of the first political texts i read cover to cover. his writing style is unmatched.
