Children of the Mindby Orson Scott Card(2 ⭐)This is as far into this series as I'm going to get, and although it's not long, it dragged a lot. There are a few problems with this book: it's extremely dialogue heavy; and nothing matters because magic.
There's a lot of bickering and reflection and "but, should we" which kind of makes it boring, because there's no real surprises as to what the outcome is going to be.
Of the big two plot points, one is to dissuade StarWays congress from blowing up a planet with the little doctor by talking to one person in not Japan, and another person in not Samoa. Incredulously, the plan works, but it doesn't matter because they launch the little doctor anyway, but that doesn't matter because Jane has magical transport anything powers.
